The Department of Philosophy at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) was founded in 1924. Professors Feng Youlan (Feng Yu-lan), Wu Kang, Zhu Qianzhi, Li Da etc, were the founders of the department, and now she is one of the best ranked philosophy research & teaching centers in China. The research groups at the department focus on, but not limited to: Chinese Philosophy, Western Philosophy, Marxist Philosophy, Logic, Philosophy of Science, Ethics, Aesthetics and Religion Study. Our philosophy discipline is also listed in the Double Fisrt Class University Plan announced by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2017.
